"If you can't laugh at yourself, then who can you laugh at???"

Nurture it, feed it, water it, and stay on the job.
My friend gave me this plant.  Or maybe I took it because it needed me so badly.
Or maybe he just thought he was throwing it out with the garbage.
I don't really know because, to take care of something, you have to stay on the job.
He didn't!
I don't always jump in and save the weak and the weary.  But this guy really meant something to me.
So I'm going to make his silly plant grow like somebody cared if it lived or died.
Stay posted and I'll include a new photo of it in about a month.
This is about a months worth of my care in this photo.  Maybe it has five new leaves.  Maybe three.
If I can't follow thru with my word then I'll let you know when the plant funeral will be.
LOL!!!
Enjoy!!!

  1. Ok, I feel your pain... or at least, Lucky's pain. Apparently, these commonly sold plants are nicknamed "Lucky Bamboo" and are notoriously easy to grow, so I'm thinking this little guy's pretty lucky to end up with you (instead)!

First thing, you might remove it from most or a lot of its soil and just grow it with its roots barely in 'the ground'. Many are grown strictly in rocks with an inch of water and a rare dab of plant food. One thing is to not overwater them, which sopping wet soil can do, because of rot potential. They also don't like direct sunlight. However, they do actually thrive best in average home temperatures.

BTW, they're not really bamboo, but in the Dracaena family, related to lilies. They twist as you change their light access over time, causing that corkscrew growth effect. And, also, the number of stalks have meaning to some: 2 for love, 3 for happiness, 5 for wealth, and others. (4 is undesirable.) Plus, they're easy to propagate by just cutting the stalks below the nodes and sticking them in water. Before long, you could easily have 6 for health, 9 for luck, or 21 for blessings!

I credit a lot of this fun info from here: http://tinyurl.com/luckybamboo
